GK9PG is a proud supporter of the DoD SkillBridge and Army Career Skills Programs

For Service members SkillBridge provides an invaluable chance to work and learn in civilian career areas.  Service members participating in SkillBridge receive their military compensation and benefits, and industry partners provide the training and work experience.  Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval.

The Army CSP program helps prepare Soldiers for civilian employment through first-class apprenticeships, on-the-job training, job shadowing, internships, and employment skills training up to 180 days prior to separation from the Army. Soldiers are eligible to participate in one Army CSP up to 180 days prior to separation from the Army and after completion of the mandatory 5-day SFL-TAP workshop. The use of permissive temporary duty (PTDY) to attend a CSP more than 50 miles away from the Soldier’s duty station may be granted at the Commander’s discretion.
