Dynamic K9

GK9PG

GK9PG leads the Nation in explosives and weapons detection capabilities focused on public safety. Emerging domestic and global terrorist organizations are creating new methods to exploit attack vectors with the intent of penetrating established security best practices. We are focused on delivering the next generation of detection dog capabilities advancing the art and science of what is possible in the detection dog industry.

Our operational guidelines demand we put the right canine resource on task to support a variety of threat mitigation strategies. GK9PG is focused on deploying our canine teams against the three primary forms of improvised explosive devices [IEDs]: vehicle-borne, package-borne, and person-borne [Department of Homeland Security defines this type of canine as the PBIED].

This strategy has allowed us to approach detection dog capabilities in a progressive way supporting three specific types of specialized dogs within our DK9 Program:
Kinetic Explosives Detection Dogs, Enhanced Firearms Capable Detection Dogs, and Explosives Detection Dogs.

Kinetic Explosives Detection Dogs [KEDD]

Kinetic Explosives Detection Dogs [KEDD] are the next generation of specialized canines and the first program in the country to be certified by the United Police Work Dog Association (UPWDA). Kinetic Detection is a science-based method for selecting, training, and employing dogs for the identification of body-worn [PBIED] and concealed-carried explosives or firearms. Kinetic dogs constantly sample the air for explosive odor molecules regardless of the delivery system.

Our next-generation capable KEDD teams support canine operations in direct contract against body-worn and concealed-carried explosive materials anywhere large crowds of people are gathering. KEDD teams can screen large crowds because we understand a well-trained detection dog can follow the odor to its source in a dynamic environment.

KEDDs and handlers work together in a progressive way – the canine searches independently taking the lead out in front of the handler. Our canine professionals understand the importance of positioning the dog to be successful, allowing the Kinetic dog to work as independent mobile detection biotechnology, and allowing the dog to follow the odor to the source.

Building a world-class detection dog begins with selecting the physical, physiological, and psychological performance characteristics necessary to perform consistently under dynamic operational conditions. Development and implementation of our Kinetic technology and training methodology incorporate building blocks to optimize each step in the process:

  • Canine Genetics
  • Puppy Selection Protocols
  • Canine Training Methods
  • Handler Training Philosophy
  • Intervention Strategies

We are the first Company in the U.S. to help develop and participate in a National Certification Standard – supported by 3rd Party Independent Agencies: United Police Work Dog Association for Kinetic and Enhanced Firearms Capable canines.

Enhanced Firearms Capable [EFC]

Enhanced Firearms Capable [EFC] technology is leading the detection dog industry our dogs find concealed-carried weapons. Our Kinetic Explosive Detection Dog with EFC technology creates the ultimate mobile detection tool denying access of unauthorized weapons into restricted areas or public spaces. Our enhanced firearms capable dogs can screen large crowds for both explosive materials and firearms. We understand the threat of firearms is increasing both on the domestic scene and international community our dogs are a critical tool all security professionals can deploy in their continuing efforts to keep people safe.

Explosives Detection Dogs [EDD]

Explosives Detection Dogs [EDD] are a proven technology solution designed to mitigate risk with a more traditional mission. Our EDD teams address more static/concealment delivery methods that could be hidden in palletized goods, luggage, and other containers being loaded onto Cruise Ships.

Our concept of operations puts the right canine resource on-task to support a variety of threat mitigation strategies. It is not a one-dog-fits-all solution. To meet existing U.S. Coast Guard MARSEC Directive 104-1 certified EDD teams are the most qualified detection dog technology.
